RPLL Girls Team

It’s well known that Girls football is on the up. Raynes Park Little League is open to both boys and girls, something that is true of all Little Leagues. However girls are in the minority and that minority shrinks as the age groups get older. A few Little Leagues attract enough girls to have a few girls-only teams but even they struggle to get the numbers for a meaningful league competition.

For this reason, RPLL, along with a number of other Little Leagues, is exploring the possibility of setting up a Girls’ Little League with teams from each League playing each other throughout the season. The plans are in the very early stages, but we want to gauge how much interest there is for Raynes Park to enter at least one team for the inaugural season.

Nothing definite has been decided regarding age groups but it is likely to be for girls in School Years 7, 8 and 9 – possibly Year 6 depending upon numbers. If you have a daughter who would be interested in being a part of the RPLL Girls Team please fill in the form below.

If the team goes ahead girls will have the option of either playing in the girls’ team or staying with or joining a team in the existing RPLL setup.

Any girl that wants to be considered for the girls team would need to be registered and attend our Trial sessions in May. Visit our Trials page for all the necessary information.
