Trials for Season 2026-27

The trials for next season will take place on the following dates:

  • Saturday 2 May
  • Thursday 7 May
  • Saturday 16 May
  • Saturday 23 May

On the Saturdays sign-in will start at 9.30am with matches from 10-11am. Sign-in on the Thursdays starts at 5.30pm with matches from 6-7pm. On the day you must sign in for the relevant age group for each trial.

We cannot guarantee every registered child will get a place in a team for the start of next season but for the best possible chance your child needs to attend two sessions (they’re welcome to attend as many as you want). Priority will be given to existing RPLL players who have attended at least two trials.

Following the trials, children are allocated to teams. We would expect to have all of this finalised by the end of June so you should hear by the summer holidays.

Your child must be registered and the registration fee paid online before they attend a trial session.

Venue: Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Ground, Marina Avenue, Motspur Park (see location on Google Maps)

Age Groups

  • Bantams –children going into school years 3 & 4 (in September 2026)
  • Juniors –children going into school years 5 & 6 (in September 2026)
  • Inters – children going into school years 7 & 8 (in September 2026)
  • Seniors – children going into school years 9 & 10 (in September 2026)

What do children need to wear/bring?

  • Suitable footwear – Hopefully the weather will be good so Astro trainers or moulded studs will be good but if it’s wet then studded boots may be needed.
  • Football kit – It doesn’t need to be a recognised football team’s kit, just something suitable to play in.
  • Shinpads – These are essential, without them we can’t let your child play.
  • Water – Bring a bottle as it’s always good to stay hydrated.

Who needs to attend the trials?

Any child not currently playing in a team at Raynes Park Little League and those currently playing but due to move into a higher age group (i.e. if your child will be moving up to school year 5, 7 or 9 in September 2025) will need to attend on at least two of these dates.
